Editor's Review

Fish of Fortune grabbed me at 1 a.m. and didn’t let go. I spun the wheel, I cursed at RNG (yes, aloud), and I rebuilt an island with more personality than my apartment. This isn’t your granddad’s fishing game. Fish of Fortune mixes coin-spinning arcade action with island-building and petty, glorious multiplayer raids—think quick taps, quick griefing, and surprisingly cute penguins (the Pingos steal the show). I sank about 10+ hours testing this—some sessions felt like pure gold, others like being mugged by a pixelated octopus.

Let’s be real. The wheel is addictive. You can land shields, loot, raid boosts, puzzle bits, or coins. Autospin exists (hallelujah) for lazy sessions—no shame—but don’t expect to AFK your way to top dog. I got stuck on the third island’s raid mechanic for nearly two hours (my fault? probably my timing) and the shield timing is not forgiving. Multiplayer is the spice: attacking friends is equal parts hilarious and rage-inducing. I loved building up defenses, then watching some jerk (shoutout to that one player) demolish my décor. The fish-card collection is surprisingly deep—dozens of cards, upgrades that actually matter, and Captain + Pingo banter that had me smirking more than once.

Pros: fast, snackable matches; wheel mechanics that reward risk; charming art and characters; steady progression if you play daily. Cons: RNG can feel punishing (don’t expect consistent wins), energy timers can stall momentum, and matchmaking sometimes pairs you against mega-built islands (not fair). Also—support is reachable via in-game Settings > Support or email (support@whalo.com), and yes there’s a Facebook community if you want real people to roast or praise.

Bottom line? If you want a coin-driven fishing game with multiplayer teeth, Fish of Fortune delivers fun, frustration, and that warm “I gotta spin again” pull. This isn’t a slow sim. It’s loud, petty, and addictively buggy in all the right ways. Try it for a weekend binge—bring snacks. If you worry about RNG or competitive raids—don’t expect it to baby you. But if you like quick wins, stealing friends’ loot, and collecting weird fish cards, you’ll be grinning (or cursing) all night.
